Flatout ProteinUP: A vehicle for anything and everything

I love carbs so much that I’m willing to drive an hour or more to get some good bread. I’ve tried Flatout before and was excited to see their new line, ProteinUP.


My aunt made my cousin pizza. My co-worker is trying to get healthier and has made some simple wraps. I use it as a vehicle for anything and everything in my fridge: bacon, lettuce, hummus, and cheese.


I don’t eat beans but do eat lots of bean products (hummus, for example). I couldn’t even guess all the beans in the bean naming contest at the fair this summer. ProteinUP comes in three fancy flavors: Core 12 and Red Pepper Hummus, made from chickpeas, and Sea Salt & Crushed Black Pepper, made from navy beans – um, what are those? At the LA Fit Expo, Flatout reached out to us FitFluential bloggers with a breakfast.



They served the Red Pepper Hummus ProteinUP with cream cheese, nut butter, granola, and dried blueberries.


In true form, I had to recreate it with my pantry items: Greek yogurt, almond butter, granola, and golden raisins and cranberries.



They explained why they chose beans, a natural source of protein and complex carbs, rather than whey protein. Plus, beans have fiber and antioxidants that are part of healthy diets around the world. They also introduced us to the Foldit ProteinUP, which is thicker and heartier. I was a huge fan and can’t wait to try them!
